An offline word game with no account and no grid that runs dry

Most mobile word games need a connection, because they live on online duels and ads. Lettrio was built the other way round: each language’s dictionary is bundled in the app, and a round needs nothing but the phone.

What works offline, and what does not

Offline: time attack (60 seconds to start, every word gives seconds back, the grid refills after every word) and the campaign mode. Scores made without a network are kept and sent to the leaderboard as soon as the connection is back.

Online only: the weekly leaderboard per language, the daily challenge (the same grid for everyone, published every day) and duels with friends through an invite link. Those three need a server by nature.

Why a word game suits offline play

A Lettrio round lasts one to three minutes depending on what you find: the length of a subway stop or a checkout queue. And since the grid never runs dry, there is no “bad grid” to restart in a loop: you last as long as you keep finding words.

Six languages are available (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Arabic), each with its own dictionary, downloaded the first time you open a language and then kept in the app.

Free, no sign-up

Lettrio is free to download and play, asks for no account and uses no third-party ad network. The daily challenge is also playable in the browser, with nothing to install, in English and French.
